
El peso mexicano caía con fuerza este jueves tras la publicación de débiles datos de la producción industrial local, y proyecciones económicas de la Reserva Federal de Estados Unidos que opacaron expectativas de que la economía mundial se recuperará rápidamente de la pandemia del coronavirus.
La moneda local cotizaba a 22.2840 por dólar, con una caída de 1.95 por ciento frente a los 21.8570 del precio de referencia de Reuters del miércoles. Momentos antes, llegó a depreciarse hasta las 22.4403 unidades.
El Indicador Mensual de la Actividad Industrial de México registró una caída real de 25.1 por ciento en abril respecto al mes previo, con base en cifras desestacionalizadas, informó este jueves el Inegi.
La Fed proyectó el miércoles que la economía estadunidense se contraerá 6.5 por ciento en 2020 y que la tasa de desempleo será de 9.3 por ciento para fines de este año.
