El peso mexicano se apreciaba el martes a su máximo nivel de más de seis meses impulsado por una debilidad del dólar y expectativas de que la Reserva Federal de Estados Unidos refuerce su política monetaria expansiva en un anuncio programado para el miércoles.
La moneda local cotizaba en 20.9677 por dólar, su mejor nivel desde el 11 de marzo, con una apreciación del 0.5% frente al precio de referencia de Reuters del lunes.
El presidente de la Fed, Jerome Powell, ha dicho recientemente que las tasas de interés en Estados Unidos se mantendrían bajas el tiempo que sea necesario.
La mejora de la confianza se vio apuntalada también por las esperanzas de una vacuna contra el COVID-19 después de que el laboratorio británico AstraZeneca reinició sus ensayos.
