El peso se aprecia este martes frente a un debilitado dólar antes de un discurso de la nominada como secretaria del Tesoro de Estados Unidos, Janet Yellen, en el que se espera que argumente a favor de un mayor gasto fiscal para la mayor economía mundial.
La moneda local cotiza en 19.6003 por dólar, con una ganancia del 0.36% frente a los 19.6708 pesos del precio de referencia de Reuters del lunes.
Yellen le dirá al Comité de Finanzas del Senado más tarde en el día que el gobierno del presidente entrante, Joe Biden, debe “actuar a lo grande” con su próximo paquete de ayuda para encarar la pandemia de Covid-19.
Biden, que tomará posesión del cargo mañana miércoles, esbozó la semana pasada una propuesta de programa de estímulo por 1.9 billones de dólares.
