El peso se deprecia este jueves a su nivel más débil desde el 21 de diciembre por un mayor interés de los inversionistas en el dólar ante el aumento de los casos de Covid-19 y las medidas de contención en varios países, incluyendo las grandes economías.

La moneda local cotiza en 20.4473 por dólar, con una pérdida del 0.81% frente a los 20.2800 del precio de referencia de Reuters del miércoles.

Analistas señalan que parte del optimismo en torno a las vacunas que impulsan la recuperación de la economía mundial se ha evaporado debido a que varios países han tardado en implementarlas y han enfrentado problemas para hacerlo.

México reportó el miércoles 1,623 muertes relacionadas con el coronavirus, con lo que el número de víctimas fatales subió a 153,639, acercándose a India, que ocupa el tercer país con mayor cantidad de decesos, por detrás de Estados Unidos y Brasil.
