Elon Musk, el segundo hombre más rico del planeta, cambió su biografía en Twitter y sólo puso ‘#bitcoin’; con ello, la criptomoneda se elevó.

El bitcoin salta este viernes hasta 14% a un máximo de dos semanas, luego de que el presidente ejecutivo de Tesla, Elon Musk, puso el nombre de la criptomoneda en su biografía de Twitter.

Musk escribió simplemente “#bitcoin” en su biografía en la red social. La principal criptomoneda del mundo ganaba 12.29% a 37,600 dólares a las 6:51 horas, tiempo de México.

El empresario multillonario, que tiene 43.8 millones de seguidores en Twitter, tiene un historial de hacer comentarios que consiguen mover el mercado desde la red social.

GameStop Corp, que ha estado en el centro de una batalla entre los grandes fondos de cobertura de Wall Street e inversores minoristas, ganó 50% el martes después de que Musk tuiteó “”Gamestonk!!”, junto con un enlace del foro online de discusiones para inversores Reddit Wallstreetbets.

El bitcoin saltó un 300% el año pasado, ya que los grandes inversionistas y corporaciones en Estados Unidos buscaron exponerse más a la moneda digital. Tocó máximos históricos de 42,000 dólares el mes pasado.

En diciembre, Musk habló sobre la posibilidad de convertir “grandes transacciones” de la hoja de balance de Tesla en bitcoins, en un intercambio en Twitter con un conocido inversionista que ha estado tratando de impulsar a la criptomoneda.

Los operadores también citaron comentarios positivos sobre el bitcoin por parte del gestor de fondos de cobertura Ray Dalio como un factor positivo para la divisa digital.
